PITCHAPALOOZA
6-8 p.m. Friday, March 16
Eagle Ballroom, Hyatt Regency Wichita. Pitching starts at 6:30!
Registration: $10, or the purchase of The Essential Guide to Getting Your Book Published
The Book Doctors, aka Arielle Eckstut and David Henry Sterry, authors of The Essential Guide to Getting Your Book Published, will be making a house call in Wichita, at the Kansas Writers Association’s 14th Annual Scene Conference. They want YOU to pitch your book at their acclaimed event, Pitchapalooza, which was recently featured in The New York Times and in a mini-documentary for Newsday. Pitchapalooza is like American Idol for books–only without the Simon. Writers get one minute to pitch their book ideas to an all-star panel of publishing experts. The winner receives an introduction to an appropriate agent or publisher for his or her book. Plus, anyone who buys a copy of The Essential Guide to Getting Your Book Published, for $15.95 at the event, gets a 20-MINUTE consultation with David. Although great entertainment and very educational for audience members, ONLY 20 WRITERS WILL BE PICKED RANDOMLY TO PITCH. DEPENDING ON TIME, EVERYONE MAY NOT GET TO PITCH. Sign up for the random pitch drawing at the event.
