Jan 21 – General discussion on writing.
Feb 18 – Starla Criser will present a combined talk on Love and Taxes. The focus is on adding romantic elements/emotion to all writing, and on taxes, business entities and the writer.
Mar 18 – JaTonna Kirkwood will lead a discussion on Agents.
Apr 15 – This will be a two-part program. Due to this being National Poetry Month, there will be a panel of KWA poets talking about their experiences, and everyone is invited to bring a short poem of their own to share. The second program will focus on Using Active vs. Passive Voice.
May 20 – The program will focus on Medicine in various ways. Jana Dahmen will discuss “Heal or Kill” in relation to plants and poisons. And Rae Cuda will discuss another facet of medicine for writers.
Jun 17 – Louise Pelzl is going to present about hooks to get folks reading your writing and we’ll be sharing problems we’re facing in our writing and brainstorming solutions to those problems.
Jul 15 – Children’s author Katelyn Andrist will have a presentation for us.
Aug 19 – NO meeting. We will be attending the August 12th Local Author Day at the main library.
Sep16 – Ron Fitten will present a program on Chekov’s Guns, Red Herrings, and Deus Ex Machina.
Oct 21 – Tom Heeren (with Ben Sutherland) will talk about Historical Fiction/Apartheid.
Nov 18 – Elections for 2024 – There will be a panel of self-published KWA authors discussing Self-Publishing, Marketing, and Promotion.
Dec 16 – Annual holiday party
