Local Author Day 2026 — Newton, KS
Newton Public Library will host its second Local Author Day on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 223 E. Seventh St., Newton, KS, featuring a morning media panel and afternoon author fair.
Event Overview
Local Author Day celebrates creativity and storytelling by bringing together authors from Harvey, Reno, McPherson, and Marion counties, plus others.
The 2026 event will include:
11:00 a.m. — Getting Your Book Noticed: A Conversation with Local Media
Hosted by Emily Christensen (co?founder, The SHOUT, Wichita) and Ted Ayres (writer, host of PBS Kansas’ Inside the Cover).
1:30–3:30 p.m. — Author Fair: Browse books, chat with authors, and discover local titles
