KWA’s next meeting falls on November 7th. It will be held in the regular place at the usual time, which is the second room on the left just past the main desk, to the left of it that is, at the Evergreen Public Library Branch, located at 2601 N. Arkansas Ave. in Wichita, Ks.
We will be discussing the 2026 anthology. We are going to have enough to publish one. The new deadline is November 7th. Please get your submissions in as soon as possible though to allow more time for proof reading and to adjust formatting. If you have title suggestions and cover art, please send it to me at brianbalzer@att.net. We will vote on it at the meeting.
We will also be voting on new board members at the November meeting. At present we may be needing a new secretary and at least one member at large. I’m not sure what other positions need to be filled at this time. If you would like to be considered for any board member position, please let me know and try to be at the meeting. It is not necessary to be at the meeting to be elected IF you have told me ahead of time what position you’re interested in.
Additionally, we will be discussing possible topics for meetings in 2027. If there is a particular topic you would like considered, or a guest speaker you would like to hear present, please make those known as well. Last but not least, we will be making plans for the party in December. If you have thoughts on the party, please chime in.
The official meeting is from 1:30 to 4, however, if you would like a little time to just visit with your fellow writers, showing up closer to 1:00 is an option. As a general rule the group takes a short break halfway through the meeting. As usual the meeting will wrap up around 3:30-3:45 to allow time to rearrange tables and chairs, as well as put away the ones that have been gotten out. The library also now requires the trash to be taken out. Thank you to those who are able and willing to help.
There’s overflow parking in the lot to the north if the library parking lot is full.
